We are a group of enthusiasts from China, Russia, and Kenya who have faced the challenges of studying and working in multicultural environments.
We know how hard it can be to socialize and find your place with a distinct accent.
We believe that accents are beautiful parts of our identities. And learning them can bring us closer together.
Hi, I’m Veronika! I was born in the Far East of Russia, close to Asia. While there isn’t much difference between Eastern and Western Russian accents, I believe our accent is one of the strongest when speaking English.
I have a diverse background in the sports and travel industries, where I gained experience in procurement management, travel management, project management, and operations.
Currently, I’m transitioning my career to web design and content creation while pursuing an MSc in Interactive Digital Media at Griffith College. In this project, I took on the challenging task of launching our platform on WordPress, where I brought our design and content ideas to life through technical implementation.
My name is Ruth. I grew up in Nairobi, Kenya, where I learned Kikuyu and Swahili as my first languages, with English being taught in school. Our Kenyan English accent is beautifully influenced by Swahili and our native languages.
While I’m currently pursuing an MSc in Interactive Digital Media, I’ve also been exploring JavaScript alongside my passion for content creation. Though I’m generally reserved, I’m loud and expressive around those I love. Kindness is something I hold dear, and in the future, I hope to work on projects that improve access to basic needs for children in underprivileged communities.
Hello! My name is Valeria. I’m from Moscow, Russia. I was born and raised in Moscow and started learning English quite late.
Our native language greatly influences how we speak. Some might say that accents make communication with others more difficult, but I believe that an accent makes us unique and special.
In the project, I was responsible for the design concept and marketing aspects — I developed the design in Figma, proposed the name and logo, created the colour palette. I also collected a library of audio and video content to make our project interactive.

I have been working in Finance and consultancy for many years. ’m passionate about creating tangible products that positively impact people and the world.
I’m drawn to the beauty and serenity of nature. I have a deep appreciation for art, design, and outdoor activities. Traveling and interacting with diverse cultures bring me great joy.
In this project, I delved deeply into content research and writing related to our project topic: different accents from different nationalities in learning English and their impact on daily communication. Additionally, I contributed to the creation of a game as part of the interaction design process.
